There will be three nights of road closures in Bridport town centre next week.

East Street will be closed overnight on Monday, November 18, Tuesday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 20 to enable Openreach to install a duct overlay.

The closures will be in place from 9pm until 5am between the junction with King Street and A J Wakeley & Sons, a distance of approximately 120 metres.

The work will be carried out overnight to minimise the disruption to traffic.

Where ducts cross a carriageway, adjoining kerbs must be temporarily marked to note positions.

Openreach duct must be laid on an outer edge of the service trench to enable box building.

A draw rope will then be inserted through the duct and secured to the marker posts at both ends of the crossing.

Duct laid beneath a carriageway crossing must be a minimum of 450mm depth from the cover of the final surface levels and, for engineering reasons, separated from other services laid in parallel by 450mm.
