A broken down lorry caused chaos to rush hour traffic yesterday evening.
The articulated lorry had overheated on the brow of hill leading to members of the public to call in a fire to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
However, when crews from Bridport fire station arrived, there was no fire and firefighters helped to make the area safe and managed traffic until Dorset Police arrived.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to Dorchester Road, Bridport at 4.45pm last night (13 November) for a reported lorry fire.
"Two crews from Bridport attended and found an articulated lorry had overheated on the brow of a hill.
"As there was no fire, the crews helped with scene safety and traffic management until the police were able to take over."
