These beautiful pictures taken by a local photographer show the amazing moment when a bank of fog rolled over the cliffs at West Bay.

They're the work of Daryl Gill, who took up photography as a hobby during the pandemic. He has since become a professional photographer, under the name West Bay Photography.

He has shared some of his favourite pictures with the News of the moment a bank of fog rolled over the cliffs at West Bay, something which Daryl says is a rare occurrence.

Daryl said: "I saw the fog coming across as the sun came up so I shot down to West Bay to capture the shot.

"Sea mist coming over the cliff is pretty rare. You can only get it a couple of times a year if you are lucky.

"I had never seen it myself so to be able to get up there with a drone and be able to get the whole of West Bay from a different view was a great opportunity."

The picture was taken using his drone, a DJI Mini 3 Pro. Daryl says whilst there is always a slight risk in taking the drone out over the water, he says it was well worth it for these pictures.

The forecast for West Bay is looking to be fairly cold for the remainder of this week, with temperatures averaging around 11/12 degrees.

There will be light breezes or gentle winds throughout this week, with light rain on Saturday and Sunday.
