A holiday park in west Dorset has been crowned the best in the UK in a national contest.
Highlands End Holiday Park in Eype has been named the Best Holiday Park in the UK at Campsites.co.uk's Camping and Glamping Awards for 2024.
The holiday park was also the runner-up for the Best Family Campsite (south-west).
The annual awards highlight the best camping, glamping, and touring sites across the UK, celebrating those sites that go above and beyond for their guests throughout the year.
A spokesperson from Highlands End said: "We’re really pleased to win the Best Campsite Award from Campsites.co.uk again, after also winning last year.
"To get Runner Up for Best Family Campsite as well was a great surprise. The award winners are chosen based on customer reviews, and we’re so happy that our guests love Highlands End as much as we do.
"We enjoyed a busy year in the park with lots of camping and touring guests, as well as the introduction of our new Glamping Pods which proved popular.
"This year also saw the opening of Dorset Foot Golf, which replaced our under-used pitch-n-putt course and has created a great day-out activity for holidaymakers and families in the Bridport area."
Highlands End has a 4.84 star rating on their travel listing, with 97% saying they would recommend the site. It features an indoor heated swimming pool to a fire station-themed restaurant and stunning sea views.
The awards cover various categories, including ‘Best Campsite’, ‘Best Glamping Site’ and ‘Most Unique Site’. Other titles include the ‘Greener Site Award’, ‘Best Newcomer' and 'Best Budget Friendly Campsite'.
Freshwater Beach Holiday Park in Burton Bradstock was runner-up for the Best Coastal Campsite in the UK. Meanwhile, Monkton Wyld Holiday Park was also a runner-up in the UK Top Dog Award.
Martin Smith, the founder of Campsites.co.uk said "Our annual awards give us the opportunity to celebrate the UK's best campsites, and this year's standards feel higher than ever.
"Each of the winning sites stands out for the care they put into being consistently excellent. My thanks and congratulations to all of the winners for adding some much-needed adventure to everyday life."
