TWO West Dorset businesses are asking for alcohol licences.
Dorset Council is considering new premises licences for the Black Ven Distillery at Lyme Regis and Wine World, Bridport.
Public comments are being invited on both applications – by November 25th for the distillery and November 27th for Wine World.
The Distillery is based at a home in Long Close, Clappentail Lane, and is described as “a home business” involving only the named couple and with no children living at the premises. The licence is needed to legally allow the delivery and collection of materials relating to the business.
Said the application for the Premises Licence: “We will not be allowing customer collections or customer visits, so in general, the maximum number of daily courier collections is one. The nearest house is over 20 metres away and there is no noise propagation due to mature trees and vegetation. Courier collections will only occur during the working day.”
Wine World’s application is for 28 South Street in Bridport town centre and comes from Mr Julian Packer who says the business will sell wine, beers and spirit for consumption off the premises for sale between 9am and 7pm Monday to Wednesday and Sunday and up until 9pm for Thursday to Saturday.
