After a successful concert last year, the Bridport Big Band is back at the Electric Palace for a fun and lively winter concert.
With a setlist featuring everything from swing, Latin and big band standards to modern pop hits, the band promises an evening of toe-tapping, crowd-pleasing music with a few surprises for good measure.
The winter concert will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 7.30pm at the Electric Palace in Bridport.
The Bridport Big Band delivers a diverse repertoire spanning the greats—George Gershwin, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole—as well as favourites from Richard Rodgers, Louis Jordan, Henry Mancini, Cab Calloway, Carole King and even Phil Collins and Jimi Hendrix.
Audiences can expect a journey through different eras, closing with a few seasonal favourites, all showcasing the band’s versatility and energy.
Led by Musical Director Matt Barge and joined by vocalists Julie Harris and Cameron Shaw, the community band brings together local musicians, including several members who have been with the group since its origins as the Rex Trevett Big Band in the 1990s.
Tickets are £11.50 each and can be purchased through the Electric Palace box office and website, or through the Tourist Information Centre in Bridport.
