A warning has been issued after a dog fell off a cliff in West Dorset.
Coastguard crews received a callout to reports that a dog had gone over a cliff west of the Golden Cap at 4.10pm on Monday, October 28.
Crews from West Bay and Lyme Regis were getting ready to be deployed but were told to stand down.
The dog had reportedly made its own way back to safety.
West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team has subsequently issued an online reminder to ensure the safety of pets near large cliff.
It read: "We wanted to remind everyone to remain vigilant and please keep your dog on the lead when walking the cliffs."
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard: "A dog was reported to have gone over a cliff near Golden Cap at about 4.10pm on Monday October 28 made its own way back to safety before the arrival of West Bay and Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Teams.
