A popular litter picking event in a West Dorset community has been cancelled due to a forecast of heavy rain.
Bridport’s eighth mass litter pick ‘From Street to Sea 8’, which was due to take place this Sunday (October 20) has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
According to the Met Office, heavy rain is forecast for the morning, changing to sunny intervals by the afternoon, cancelling the event.
The litter pick, which also would have included the regular West Bay Beach Clean, has been cancelled with the next Street to Sea event planned to take place in May next year. The event promised to be one of the biggest ever, with organisers having planned two new rendezvous points in a bid to expand the area covered by the clean-up.
The next West Bay Beach Clean is still scheduled to go ahead and will take place on Sunday, November 17.
