An urgent road closure has been put in place in Lyme Regis to repair a water mains leak.
Lyme Regis Town council has issued a statement that Marine Parade will be closed over the weekend to enable South West Water to make the repairs.
The road closure came into effect today (Wednesday, October 15) and will last until Monday, October 21.
A spokesperson for Lyme Regis Town Council said: "South West Water have notified us of an urgent closure on Marine Parade, Lyme Regis due to repair mains leak.
"The works are expected to be completed by 21-10-2024.
"If there are any further updates, we will of course let you know."
The news of yet another road closure in the town comes as five weeks of roadworks got underway on Cobb Road in early October.
This is part of a £300,000 upgrade to the electricity network in the area.
Two-way traffic lights have been installed on Cobb Road until October 25 and will again be in operation for several weeks between November 18 and December 6.
