An electrical fire has sparked a village power outage.
The fire took place within a transformer unit on a utility pole in Dottery today just before 2.30am.
Firefighters were called to the scene ant the blaze, which caused a power outage in the area, was already out.
The crew cordoned off the area and passed the incident over to the utility services upon their arrival.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: “Both pumps from Bridport Fire Station were mobilised to an electrical fire in a transformer unit on a utility pole in Dottery.
“The fire, which was out on arrival, had caused a power outage in the area.
“Crews cordoned off the area and handed the incident over to the utility services upon their arrival.”
