Pupils were treated to a live rock music assembly at school.
The youngsters at Bridport Primary School, part of Initio Learning Trust, got to channel their inner rock star with the lively activity.
Everyone got involved either by being on stage playing an instrument or by being off stage and using their own instrument - their voice.
The assembly was run by The Rocksteady Music School, which provides in-school band lessons in primary schools across the country.
The inclusive lessons give children the chance to play music in their very own band, helping them to develop new music skills, while boosting social skills, wellbeing and confidence.
Bridport Primary is delighted that it will be offering a Rocksteady club at the school, comprising five bands.
Children will be able to choose between bass, drums, keyboard, guitar and singing. Termly concerts will be held, once pupils have honed their skills.
The assembly went down a treat, with one pupil saying: “That was amazing - the best assembly ever.”
“He could play loads of instruments and we learned lots of new musical words,” said another.
The children are also looking forward to learning more about performing live music.
“I can't wait to learn the drums!” said one pupil.
“It was really inspirational and interesting to learn about how bands compose music,” said another.
Deputy headteacher of Bridport Primary School, Flo Le Gassick, said: “The children really enjoyed the assembly brought to us by The Rocksteady Music School and are excited about forming their own bands.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to participate in collaborative music lessons, resulting in regular live music performances.”
Headteacher of Bridport Primary School, Michaela Kite, said: “Music plays such a vital part in building self-esteem and developing resilience, as well as mental well-being.
“It contributes to the whole curriculum and the whole child and we are delighted to be able to introduce this initiative at Bridport primary.”
