Bridport's regular mass litter pick is set to return once more, 'bigger than ever'.
The eighth 'From Street to Sea’ mass litter pick will take place from 10am on Sunday, October 20.
This time the litter pick will feature two new 'rendezvous points', further expanding the area covered by the clean-up.
The pick will see residents come together to clean the town - with some getting competitive with fellow pickers over who can collect the most rubbish.
Organiser and Bridport town councillor Ian Bark said: "People picking for the first time are shocked by the volume of small items they find on streets they have driven or walked along regularly and never noticed.
"It is the plastic and other litter that gets thrown thoughtlessly onto our streets and roadsides that is the source of the majority of the pollution that visually blights our beaches and the seas that surround us and is responsible for killing the flora and fauna that inhabit them.
"That is why people of all ages, families and groups of friends take part in what has become a great social occasion that really does make a difference. Not only does the town look better, people go home feeling good about themselves knowing that they have done something positive that makes a difference.
"To help break this destructive cycle, come along and do your bit."
Organisers say that whilst large things like discarded shopping trolleys, car tyres, glass bottles, drink cans etc are an obvious blight, it is the small items like cigarette butts, disposable vapes, drink straws and sweet wrappers that do the greatest harm to the environment generally and wildlife in particular.
To get involved, simply arrive at one of the rendezvous points at 10am on Sunday, October 20 and you will be given the necessary kit to set off for no more than an hour, to clean up a small area of the town where litter is a particular issue.
This popular event now has two additional rendezvous points bringing the total to six spread across the town.
The rendezvous points are as follows: Bradpole Village Hall, Bothenhampton Pasture Way, the Co-op, Morrisons, the Ropemakers rear car park and the black hut on East Pier in West Bay.
