CHANGES to an original planning consent at a west Dorset garden nursery site have been refused.
Waycroft Nurseries at Slape Hill, Waytown already has planning consent to build a replacement home and demolish some horticultural buildings. The owners had asked for a change in the consent to vary the size and design of the house, saying that their circumstances had changes.
A planning officer report said that had the amended plans been allowed the replacement house would have been three times the size of the original which was not acceptable.
Said the officer’s report: “In summary, the poor design, overlarge scale, over-development of the plot and the loss of vegetation would lead to a poor quality of development that fails to respect local character and would lead to visual harm from public views.”
