THE temporary closure of a main west Dorset road begins later this week.
Resurfacing work will be carried out on the A356 in two phases.
The first phase will see the A road closed at Chilfrome between its junction with Higher Drove and its junction with Higher Wraxall Road, a distance of approximately 1,650 metres.
This stretch will be closed from October 10 to October 16.
There will also be a parking suspension and a clearway in place as indicated by signs.
The second phase will see the A356 closed at Rampisham between Rampisham Hill and its junction with B3163, a distance of approximately 2,330 metres.
This part of the road will be closed from October 17 to October 25.
There will also be a parking suspension and a clearway in place here, as indicated by signs on site.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
