Emergency services are dealing with a crash on the A35 near Bridport this evening.

There's a road closure in force between the Crown Roundabout up towards Miles Cross (B3162 West Road) as crews deal with an incident.

Police have now said it's a 'serious' crash.

The incident is thought to have happened at the turning for Eype.

An air ambulance has landed in the area.

Dorset Police said tonight: "Road closures are currently in place as emergency services respond to a serious road traffic collision on the A35 between Bridport and Chideock.

"Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible and we would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding."
