Dramatic pictures show a car engulfed in flames after a crash on the A35 which forced the road to close.
Police officers and firefighters rushed to the scene of the crash involving a lorry and car on the A35 near Bridport.
The road was closed heading east from the East Road roundabout to the Askerswell turn-off, but has now reopened.
The car involved caught fire and pictures show the it completely destroyed by flames. Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries, police said.
The road closure caused chaos to traffic which built up in Bridport and motorists experienced severe delays due to roadworks on the coast road at Portesham, which made travel from Bridport to Dorchester difficult.
The westbound carriageway remained open during the incident but traffic was moving 'very slowly', according to Bridport Fire Station.
