There is only three weeks to go until a popular fireworks and bonfire event lights up West Bay.

Bonfire by the Beach will return to East Beach with a bang on Saturday, October 26 with plenty of excitement and activities.

The free annual event begin at 4pm with funfair, live music, outdoor catering. A bonfire will then be lit at 6pm before the evening concludes with an 8pm firework display.

It is organised by Bridport Round Table and West Bay Days - a group of volunteers who run other popular events through out the area such as Pirates Day and the Christmas Tree on Harbour Green.

James Radcliffe, chair of West Bay Days, said: "We always try to make each year better than the year before.

"We're expecting a lot of people this year and the firework display is always a hit with people.

"We want everyone to come down and enjoy the evening."

The free event will see live entertainment from bands including Howling at the Moon and What the Phunk, who performed at last year's event.

A Guy Fawkes competition starts at 6pm with the winner having the honour of lighting the bonfire, before the dazzling fireworks display at 8pm.

Donations are encouraged to raise funds for local groups and causes including Bridport Youth Rugby Club, Bridport Youth Football Club, ASCape autism charity, Bridport Men's Wellness and many more.

A free bus service from Bridport to West Bay will be in operation from the bus depot between 5pm and 9.50pm.
