A BEAUTICIAN who fell into her dream job three years ago says she is ‘absolutely chuffed’ to have won a big award for her efforts.
Eyes and Brows by Adele Freeman at Gundry Road, Bridport, has been named as the Bridport and Lyme Regis News Beautician of the Year - a competition voted for by our readers.
Adele, 37, said: “I am absolutely chuffed about this. It makes me want to do more and work harder. It’s also really nice to be able to say that I am a winner.
“I am over the moon, it’s three years of hard work.“
Prior to starting out in the beauty industry, Adele ran her own cleaning business for 18 years, however following a car crash, she decided to change career paths.
After a lot of thought and ‘having a lot of friends in the industry,’ she thought ‘I wouldn’t mind a bit of that, seeing somebody walk out of an appointment with a big smile on their face,’ and that was where her business idea was born.
Adele added: “I need to do something that’s going to change people’s lives. I started small with lashes and grew the business over the last couple of years.
“Keeping up with the trends is the main thing.”
She explained that eyebrow services are the most popular amongst clients, adding ‘you wouldn’t believe that there are that many eyebrows around Bridport.”
The beautician will also start offering permanent makeup options as of October 16.
She said: “I am finding it great. I went from having one client a week to eight and then I realised that I had found something.
"The next month I had 40 or 50 people through the door. I am always bettering myself and always learning.
“Now I have about 270 clients on my books and that number is always growing.”
Adele described her salon as ‘a home from home’ for her clients who get a one on one, personal treatment as it is just her.
