A CHARMOUTH holiday park is planning to ‘upgrade’ touring caravan pitches to static and lodge-style caravans.
The Wood Farm Holiday Park is currently exploring the idea with Dorset Council which could lead to a full planning application later.
Agents acting for the Axminster Road site say the new set-up, if approved, would reduce the number of units from 37 to 34 on the western section of the site.
A similar application was made in 2021, and later approved, for the conversion of 53 touring caravan pitches to 43 static units, with year-round occupancy allowed.
The site and the surrounding area sits within the Dorset National Landscape although is largely screened from views by established vegetation and woodland areas in the vicinity, according to the planning agents.
This application, and others in the West Dorset area, can be viewed by using the reference provided on the Dorset Council website.
