A section of the coast road has closed for reconstruction.
The B3157 Abbotsbury is closed between its junction with East Bexington Farm Road and Abbotsbury Hill.
Travelling east from Bridport, Swyre and West Bexington are still accessible before the closure at Abbotsbury. Businesses also remain open as usual.
The work at Abbotsbury is to enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction works.
Work is expected to be completed by September 29.
During the closure periods there will be no on street parking available, and temporary parking restrictions will be implemented to prevent waiting or parking on the roads.
It is currently causing major disruption with traffic delays reported in the area.
It comes ahead of further planned roadworks happening on the B3157 Portesham at Goose Hill.
This is to replace the main with new plastic pipes in a project that will start on Monday, September 30, with a scheduled finish on Friday, November 8.
