A new Viking attraction is opening today - complete with axe throwing, darts and more.
Viking Village, Seal’s Cove family indoor adventure centre on Shoe Lane at St Andrew’s Trading Estate, has opened its doors.
The interior of the centre has been transformed into a Viking settlement complete with a tavern-themed bar, carved dragon heads and sound effects and subdued lighting replicating the ambience of a creaky Norse ship.
It has taken 18 months to build and bar manager Michael Byrne is excited to finally unveil it to the public.
He said: “There's nothing anything like this anywhere near here that I know of. There are very few things to do this end of town.
“Some of these guys have been working on this for two years. To finally have an opening date is quite exciting.”
Seals Cove opened in 2022 and was the creative vision of local businessman Chris Seal. The complex includes a soft play centre with ‘tunnels, death slides and interactive zones over three-storeys’, a café and an indoor climbing centre which includes a 10-metre high ‘ridge’ wall.

As it has primarily been a family orientated adventure centre, Mr Byrne hopes this new attraction will attract an older demographic so that Seals Cove is as inclusive as possible..
He added: "The long-term idea is to eventually have something here for every age group. We're looking at things like laser tag and other laser shooting.
"There should be something here for absolutely everyone to make it a proper family attraction.”
"We've already received a lot of requests for family bookings and work dos. Hopefully that’ll continue but not just for one demographic though so hopefully we will appeal to all. We have the size and space for it and there's plenty for everyone to do.
“Come and have a look! Whenever I tell people about the place it's difficult to put into words what all the team have achieved in bringing something this special to life."
