A Bridport writer is set to debut his new show, offering a comedic tale of creative ambitions, misguided friendship and male vulnerability.

Clive Whaley will be performing his new show - The Small World of Clive Crudwick - at Bridport Arts Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesday October 23 and Thursday, October 24.

It centres on the fictional hero Clive whose deadly serious intentions often leads to unintentionally comic results.  The result is a tragicomic story on creative ambition, controlling behaviour and unrequited love.

It is described as a "mocumentary musical" which combines comical film clips with live, original songs on stage.  The songs are performed solo at first but progress to a full band with backing singers and string players.

Clive Whaley has staged two previous productions at the Arts Centre, including the 2011 ‘documentary musical’ called Lonely Boys.

Both performance nights will raise funds for Bridport Harmony Mental Health Group and the children’s creative writing charity – the Bank of Dreams and Nightmares.

Tickets are available to buy from the Tourist Information Centre or on the Bridport Arts Centre website: https://www.bridport-arts.com/event/the-small-world-of-clive-crudwick/
