A new mayor is set to be voted in for Lyme Regis.
Following Dave Ruffle’s sudden resignation as mayor and councillor, a new mayor for the town will be voted in at a council meeting on Wednesday, September 4, at 7pm.
A deputy mayor will also be elected at the meeting, and both will serve for the remainder of the 2024-25 council year.
At present, Deputy Mayor Cllr Philip Evans is carrying out all civic duties.
Cllr Ruffle was voted in as mayor for the seaside town back in May, taking over the role from Cllr David Sarson.
He stood down as the mayor and Lyme Regis town councillor for personal reasons, with immediate effect.
