An acclaimed author, presenter and historian is coming to Bridport later this year.
Philippa Langley MBE will be coming to Bridport's Electric Palace on Thursday, September 19 as she tours her latest book: The Princes in the Towers.
Famed for her role in discovering Richard III under a car park in Leicester, Philippa is a national treasure whose discovery made national news and inspired a critically acclaimed feature film The Lost King, which stars Steve Coogan and Sally Hawkins.
An established author and respected historian, throughout her career Philippa has released numerous critically revered books.
Cracking history’s greatest cold case, Langley's latest work follows her discovery of some ground-breaking evidence which will forever change how we perceive the mystery of the fate of the deposed King Edward V of England, and his younger brother Prince Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York, both of whom were heirs to the throne of King Edward IV of England; and are the so-called “princes in the tower”.
In ‘The Princes In The Tower’, Langley lifts the lid on fascinating new research that shows that the two Princes were not murdered on the orders of their uncle Richard III in 1483 as previously thought, but did in-fact survive.
As well as talking about her new book, Philippa will be detailing some of her astonishing discoveries, as explored in her recent Channel 4 documentary, plus the fascinating detective work she undertook in challenging 500 years of accepted views about the fate of the young Princes.
Following a talk from Langley, the event will also feature an audience Q&A plus a book signing with the author herself.
Tickets for this special event are on sale now, and can be purchased here online at www.electricpalace.org.uk/events/event/philippa-langley-the-princes-in-the-tower/
