An elderly man was taken to hospital following an incident in Bridport.
As previously reported, an air ambulance was seen circling around West Road in Bridport at 6.20pm on Wednesday, August 14 before landing at 6.30pm.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has since confirmed an incident involving an elderly man and were called to assist South Western Ambulance Service.
The man was subsequently taken to Dorset County Hospital. The nature of the incident is not yet known.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance said: "Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended an incident in Bridport yesterday evening involving an elderly male patient.
"This was a request from our South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust land crew colleagues.
"The patient was taken to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester accompanied by our critical care team.
"The team we provided consisted of a doctor and specialist practitioner in critical care, both of whom specialise in pre-hospital emergency medicine. The aircraft was crewed as usual, by a pilot and co-pilot."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 5.41pm on Wednesday, August 14 to an incident near Bridport.
"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Dorset County Hospital."
