The mayor of Lyme Regis, councillor David Ruffle, has resigned.
Cllr Ruffle has stood down as the mayor and Lyme Regis Town Councillor for personal reasons, with immediate effect.
Lyme Regis Town Council went on to say that Dorset Council has been informed.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Philip Evans will carry out all civic duties until a new mayor is elected on Wednesday, September 4.
Cllr Ruffle was voted in as mayor for the seaside town back in May, taking over the role from Cllr David Sarson.
He first joined the town council in 2019 and is currently serving his second five-year term as a town councillor. He moved to Lyme Regis around 20 years ago.
It is not yet known if Cllr Ruffle will continue his duties as town councillor.
