A new business owner in Beaminster has spoken about her excitement at opening.
Emily Scadding recently opened the doors of Hair By Emily to local residents with a launch party at her premises on Hogshill Street in the west Dorset town.
A good time was had by all during the festivities which included a raffle raising £124 for Cancer Research UK.
Training from the age of 14, Emily has become a fully trained hair stylist, and hair extension technician, with 15 years of experience from training in London to working in local hair salons.
Speaking about opening a new business in her local area, she said: “I'm really excited to welcome all my loyal customers, old and new.
“This is a real ‘pinch me moment’, I have always dreamed of having my own salon. I started as a Saturday girl at the age of 14 and trained to be a hair and colour stylist.
“Last year, I took the plunge to go self-employed and rented a chair.
“An opportunity arose to rent a former barber shop here in my hometown of Beaminster and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss.
"After a lot of hard work from friends and family, the premises was transformed into my dream salon. My passion is to take ordinary hair and turn it into something amazing.”
