Firefighters are calling for changes to be made after they were unable to get the fire engine past parked cars.
A Charmouth fire crew could not physically drive down Old Lyme Road as cars were parked either side of the street.
They have now taken to social media to ask drivers if they could only park on the hedged side of the road so that they can get through in the case of an emergency.
They have also contacted the council to see if any parking restrictions can be put in place on the road ‘urgently.’
A spokesperson for Charmouth Fire Station said: “Once again access to Old Lyme Road has been seriously compromised. There is no way we can get a fire engine past the parked cars.
“Can we request that cars only park on the hedge side (left hand side approaching from the street). We will follow this up with the council and see if we can get some parking restrictions put in place urgently.”
Dorset Council have been contacted for comment.
