I WRITE having read concerning the car park losses.
I would like to say, my husband and I went out to West Bay last Thursday around lunch time and we parked in the big car park.
In previous years it would have been impossible to find a parking space (that’s when the parking rates were reasonable) on this day I believed I counted 20 cars!
READ MORE: Reduced car park fees in Dorset making a difference
If Dorset Council is totally focused on keeping the price as it is, you are living in cloud cuckoo land.
With the economic climate as it is holidaymakers, who are relied on by local traders, are not going to come.
Suggestion: reduce the price as it is. Take the winter charges and add half of this cost to make the summer charges.
Do this and you’ll be onto a winner. Finally, I know you need money for the coffers but by chasing away holidaymakers and locals you will always be out of pocket.
Get your heads out of the clouds and be realistic and use your common sense!
