Spells of pleasant and sunny weather are forecast for the weekend as Dorset prepares for a heatwave.
According to the Met Office, there will be warm and sunny spells on Saturday with light winds. The good weather looks set to continue through Sunday and into Monday where temperatures are set to pick up from around 21C to 26C by Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “The end of July and into early August will typically be dominated by a northwest-southeast split.
“Toward the south and east it will tend to be drier and brighter much of the time, although there is also the small possibility of some thundery showers spreading in from the nearby continent at times. Temperatures during this period will probably be close to or slightly above average overall, with the likelihood of some very warm conditions developing in the south."
