Staff at a west Dorset holiday park are 'honoured' to have been named among the most outstanding sites in the UK. 

The UK booking platform Campsites.co.uk compiled its annual list of 150 'outstanding' camping, glamping, and touring sites across the UK. 

The unranked list celebrates the sites that offer campers a "reliably great holiday." 

Highlands End Holiday Park in Eype was featured on the list, hailed as a "5 star park on the Jurassic Coast with sea views."

The site has a 4.85 star rating based on customer reviews with 96% saying they would recommend the site. 

One review read: "The location was brilliant, the services were amazing and we are already looking to come back again. "

Another review described it as "the cleanest and tidiest site" they had visited.

Highlands End Holiday Park was also crowned the Best Holiday Park in Campsites.co.uk's annual Camping and Glamping Award awards which commends the holiday sites that have gone above and beyond for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year.

The park boasts many other accolades including winning South West’s Holiday Park of the Year for the 2022 Tourism Excellence Awards as well as a TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Award in 2021.

Also making the list was another west Dorset site - Coppet Hill in Whitchurch Canonicorum.

Other Dorset sites featured on the list included two sites in the Weymouth area - Buckland Campsite and Rosewall Camping; Norden Farm Campsite in Wareham, Riverside Lakes in Horton and Woodfrys Farm in Shaftesbury.
