A multi-million pound project to repair a road damaged by a landslide in Chideock has been completed.
Roadworks were in place on Chideock Hill along the A35 since July 2023 due to a landslip which required a £2million restoration project to be carried out in order to secure the road.
National Highways, which is responsible for the repairs along that stretch of the A35, has now confirmed that the work has been completed.
Originally the work was set to take only five months but it has only just finished - a year later.
The work involved installing arrester beds along the eastbound carriageway and resurfacing to the road above.

Arrester beds are safety features on the side of steep downhill roads that allow vehicles that have gathered too much speed to stop safely.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "National Highways can confirm that all works relating to the Chideock landslip remediation scheme, including resurfacing of the carriageway above and works to the arrester beds on the downhill stretch eastbound into the village are now complete.

The spokesperson added: "There may still need to be an overnight partial closure of one lane leading down to Charmouth roundabout on the A35 for the completion of works to the arrester bed there.
"There are no other closures for planned works between Axminster and Bridport on the A35 during the summer."
Roadworks in the village have previously left residents and pub owners 'frustrated' by a lack of communication and access.

For three weeks an overnight closure was in place from 8pm until 6am between Axminster and Bridport.
Not only was this for the repairs on Chideck hill, but it was also part of a £350k investment to improve the A35.
Amy Smith, who runs the George Inn on the A35 in Chideock, says she was forced to close the pub on several occasions during the most recent road closures as work took place directly outside the pub.

She said: "The road works were horrendous, they were delayed and we were kept up some nights to incessant jack hammering.
"We did lose out on trade and we had to close a few nights, but it hasn't been as bad as previous ones."
Midweek overnight closures are currently in place between Bridport and Dorchester from 8pm until 6am as a continuation of the maintenance.
This work is set to end as of July 31.
