A west Dorset care home has been raising money for a lifesaving charity.
Staff and residents at Fairfield House on Charmouth Road, Lyme Regis, presented the Lyme Regis RNLI with more than £200 from a recent fundraiser.
As part of its open week, the care home hosted a raffle, with many of the prizes kindly donated by local businesses.
April Robinson who has worked at the care home for 10 years, said: “We raised money for the Lyme Regis RNLI as part of our care home open week.
“It was a very successful day and we had plenty of donations. We raised a total of £213.
“When the raffle was drawn, we did it all in the main lounge so that the residents could be involved – It was all very much about the residents.
“We chose the Lyme Regis RNLI because it’s a charity close to home and we have fundraised for them in the past – they have been so appreciative and told us that all the little donations soon add up.”
Volunteer at Lyme Regis RNLI, Petrina Muscroft said: ‘We are very grateful for this generous donation which will be put to good use enabling our crew to maintain the 24/7 lifesaving service at Lyme Regis.’
