Residents will now be able to dispose of their electric cigarettes at locations around Dorset.
Dorset Council has announced that its Household Recycling Centres will have dedicated bins for vapes and cigarettes.
E-cigarettes are becoming increasingly popular and, with more people using the devices, the fire service is seeing more and more incidents relating to them across the country.
The fire service recently issued to not put the devices in general waste or recycling bins to to the dangers they pose.

Therefore residents are now being urged to use the new bins at recycling centres throughout the county.
A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "We now have dedicated vape bins at our Household Recycling Centres.
"Vapes contain batteries and can cause fires when thrown away, so it’s important not to bin them at home or in a litter bin.
"Instead, recycle your vapes for free at your local Household Recycling Centre.
