This year one of the lifeboat station's yellow welly dogs is up for grabs at the grand lifeboat week raffle.

Tickets to win the 12 top prizes, including the puppy and a £100 voucher for Mark Hix’s Oyster and Fish House restaurant, are available from the RNLI shop next to the lifeboat station.

Lifeboat Week starts on Saturday July 27th and will be opened at 11am at the lifeboat station by Jules Hudson, presenter of the BBC show Escape to the Country.

The first day will then continue with events including the bathtub race and a display by the Lyme Regis inshore lifeboat and the all weather lifeboat from Exmouth.

The event will also see the return of a re-designed event, unique to Lyme Regis, called conger cuddling which does not involve a conger eel.  This follows a sponsored conga dance planned to take place along Marine Parade.

Later in the week events include a return of the Army’s spectacular Red Devils parachute display team.
