A "high risk" missing person was found with the assistance of the coastguard team in Lyme Regis. 

The Lyme Regis coastguard team was sent at 3.47am today, Wednesday, July 10, to assist Beer Coastguard and Devon and Cornwall Police with the search for a high risk missing person in Branscombe, East Devon. 

Police dogs and a drone were used to try and locate the person. 

Devon and Cornwall Police located the person outside of the search area. 

A spokesperson for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: "At 3.47am, on Wednesday, July 10 we were tasked with Beer Coastguard and the coastguard drone team to search for a high risk missing person.

"The casualty was located by Devon and Cornwall police outside of search area." 

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "At 3.30am on Wednesday, July 10, the HM Coastguard Drone Team alongside Lyme Regis and Beer Coastguard Rescue Teams assisted Devon and Cornwall Police in search of a missing person in Branscombe, East Devon.

"Teams were stood down at around 5.15am, as the casualty was located by police and passed into onward care."
