Walking footballers in Bridport held a tournament in memory of its founder.
Four teams of five from the Bridport Old Boys walking football battled for a trophy and to raise £400 for Pancreatic Cancer UK research on Friday, July 5.
The event, held in St Mary’s Fields. was in memory of founder member Stuart Broom, who died of the illness in 2022.
The winning team of Mark Vicheon, Trevor Powell, Brian Smith, Kevin Moys and Paul Turner were presented with the trophy by local player Peter Collis who has gone on to represent England after graduating from the club.
Organisers Kevin Moys and Ray Sheehan thanked the more than 20 players who turned up to play in memory of their old friend.
Donations were made on the day and came from the club funds to support the charity.
This is the second time the tournament has been held after the first event in 2022, which raised £140.
