Two new shows have been added to the line-up of a highly anticipated West Dorset event.
Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week will begin on Saturday, July 27 regularly raises around £35,000 for the RNLI with a week of fun, games, entertainment music and displays.
This year’s will see the return of favourite attractions including a bath tub race, illuminated boats, a crab fishing competition and the Army parachute display team The Red Devils.
On Monday July 29 at 7pm the popular shanty singers, the Chantry Buoys, will appear at the performance area on Marine Parade.
The group of eight men, from the Colyton area of East Devon, describe themselves as a light-hearted team of friends who simply enjoy singing together as they raise donations for charity.
There will also be a Punch and Judy show on Friday, August 2 presented by Brian and Alison Davey from Axminster who have been doing the show for the past 50 years.
The show, on the sandy beach, will have a pirate theme, starring Captain Jack Sparrow.
Curtain up for each 30-minute performance will be at 12pm and 3pm.
The souvenir lifeboat week programme, celebrating the RNLI’s 200th anniversary, is also currently available from the lifeboat shop and other outlets around the town.
