THERE'S little more than a week to go before the biggest music festival in west Dorset.

The Jurassic Fields festival will be held over three days on the West Bay Fields from July 12-14.

This year for the first time the the festival will have all its stages running on all three days.

Headlining the main stage at the festival this year are indie royalty Reverend and The Makers on Friday, dubstep giant Gentleman’s Dub Club on Saturday with 2-tone legends The Selector closing the show on Sunday.

The 'Big Top' headliners this year are festival favourites The Barefoot Bandit, The Eskies and Dutty Moonshine Big Band.

Jurassic Fields is also welcoming Show of Hands back for their last-ever festival performance as a band.

Along with the big headline acts, the event also has a host of talented local musicians both new and old.

The directors and the Jurassic Fields team are determined to make this year a success and build a strong future for the event.

In a previous statement to the News, festival director Jamie Isaacs said: "We are really excited about the line-up this year. We have tried to invite artists that cover as many musical genres as possible.

"We’ve got big hitters and also some hidden gems that are definitely going to be ‘I saw them at my local festival’ moments in the future.

“We have also extended our programming this year with all stages running on all three days, which is a really exciting step for us.”

Last year the festival was hit with difficult weather conditions, but the directors and the Jurassic Fields team are excited about bringing the show back for 2024.

Jamie added: “We have listened to the feedback about last year’s event and we believe we have made improvements so that everyone’s experience will be the best yet. We have more bars and a range of traders. We cannot wait to welcome you to the field this year.”
