Crowds were ‘delighted’ by a free concert in the sunshine overlooking a beach in west Dorset.
Hundreds of people took to Lister Gardens in Lyme Regis on Saturday for Party in the Park.
The free seven-hour event, organised by the Lyme Regis Town Council, saw a lineup of Hazel Williams, Charlie Evans, Alex Green, Mike and Tilly Stainer, Declan Duffy and Jody Glover, as well as Guilty Pleasure.
AS well as the free concert, there were also a variety of food stalls, a bar, a free bouncy castle, as well as children’s entertainment from Strawberry Jam Entertainments and free mini golf for Gateway card holders.
A host of guests were delighted by the performance on the day.
Phil and Jo Severn had travelled from Nottingham on a 10-day holiday to the coastal town to soak up the sun. Jo said: “The concert was a complete surprise to us as we didn’t know it was on. We booked the holiday especially because of the good weather, and this has been an absolute bonus to the holiday.”
Donna and Alan Holiday came down from Axminster and were joined by Pauline Reed from Seaton. They said it had been such a brilliant event on a 'lovely sunny day.'
The Jones family with their dog, Reg, had travelled from the Bristol area and said that this was a ‘perfect end to the day’ and said they were enjoying the music.
John and Nikki, with their dogs Evie and Rosie travelled from Hampshire. Nikki said the couple were having ‘a lovely time’ at the event 'relaxing and listening to the great music.'
The Smith family, from Lyme Regis, said the event was ‘absolutely brilliant.’
Rachel, Ben and Pauline, who brought along their dog Leo travelled from London to spend the weekend in Dorset, as they own a holiday home in Wooton Fitzpaine. Pauline said: “I had no idea this was on, but it’s just been amazing to sit in the sun and listen to music- it’s been delightful.
“I’m also surprised that I know most of the songs,” she joked.
