Tributes have been paid to a keen angler who will be 'missed by all who knew him.'
Mike Rose sadly passed away at Cogden Beach on Saturday night while fishing the Southern League and Opens match.
As reported, emergency services rushed to the west Dorset beach at 11.20pm on Saturday after it was reported a man was unresponsive.
Police confirmed a man, aged in his 70s and from Frome in Somerset, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Richard Daw, vice president and secretary of West Bay Sea Angling Club, said: "On Saturday, club member, friend and fellow angler Mike Rose sadly passed away whilst fishing.
"Mike really enjoyed his fishing and supported the club’s shore and boat matches, as well as fishing matches outside the club.

"Earlier this year, whilst fishing a club match at West Bexington, Mike caught a blue skate - the first blue skate ever caught by a club member since the club was formed in 1951.
"Mike will be missed by his family and all who knew and fished alongside him over the years. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
"As vice president of the club, I would like to thank all those that tried to save Mike - his fellow anglers and paramedics. Fish in peace, Mike."
