There were long delays to traffic along the A35 earlier due to a broken down vehicle blocking the road.
The A35 West Road was blocked in both directions due to the broken down vehicle in Chideock from The George Inn to Eype Down Road / Quarr Lane, near to the roadworks area.
Dorset Police attended to help with traffic management in the area.
The AA route planner reported 'severe delays' to traffic travelling along the A35 between Morcombelake and Bridport.
Motorists experienced delays of 17 minutes along West Road heading east with an average speed ten mph.
There were also delays of eight minutes along the westbound carriageway between the B3157 Burton Road (Crown roundabout) and Eype Down Road with an average speed of ten mph.
The vehicle has now been recovered and traffic has returned to normal.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 10.53am of a broken down vehicle on the A35 at Chideock.
"Officers have attended to assist with traffic management as the vehicle is recovered.
"The broken-down vehicle was recovered and the carriageway cleared at around 1.35pm."
