A van has been stolen in Bridport prompting the police to issue an appeal for information.

At around 3am this morning a white Renault Trafic van with the registration number WD21KCF was stolen in South Street.

The van was stolen while the driver was carrying out a delivery nearby.

The offender has been described by Dorset Police as a white man, approximately 30 years old, five feet six inches tall and of medium build with short brown hair.

Officers are appealing for help from the public to locate the stolen van and identify the person responsible.

Police constable Chloe Seaward, of Dorset Police, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please come forward.

“I am also appealing to the community in the vicinity of the South Street to please check any CCTV systems or dashcams for footage that may help us identify a direction of travel for the van.”
