A teenager has been left with a broken jaw following an assault in Bridport.
It was reported that a 19-year-old boy was assaulted by a man and a woman near to the Esso garage in East Road.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Following enquiries, a 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Bridport, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
They have since been released on police bail as further investigative work is carried out.
The incident took place between 10am and 1pm on Sunday May 26 and police have only just released details.
Detective Constable Erin Kinghorn, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries.
“In particular, I understand there was a member of the public who went to intervene during the incident, and I would be keen to speak to this individual and take their account of what they saw.
“I would also urge any residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, or motorists with dashcam who were in their vicinity, to please review any footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
