We asked Bridport News readers on Facebook what they thought were the best beer gardens in the region – here are some of your favourites.
Some of the best pub beer gardens in west Dorset
Pymore Inn
Location: Pymore Road, Pymore
This popular free house is hosting a Cider Festival over the bank holiday weekend featuring more than18 different local craft ciders, delicious food and freshly made pizzas.
There will be live music from The Pickwicks, Jess Upton and the Guilty Pleasures, Jack Daniels and Emma Marshall.
Martin's Bar & Restaurant
Location: Highlands End Holiday Park, Eype, Bridport, DT6 6AR
Although based at a holiday park, this family-owned spacious venue is open to all.
The beer garden is just a 10 minute walk to the coast path and the dog exercising meadow where pets can have a run off the lead.
Bridge House Hotel
Location: 115 East Street, Bridport
A favourite with readers is the Potting Shed at the Bridge House Hotel.
Its website says: "The walled garden is perfect for relaxing, with its outdoor kitchen and ‘Potting shed’ bar open from early Spring into late Autumn.
"Inside there’s a cosy snug with books and newspapers to enjoy a pot of tea or a tipple from the honesty bar."
Shave Cross Inn
Location: Shave Cross, Bridport, DT6 6HW
Another popular beer garden is the outdoor facility at the Shaves Cross Inn.
The 14th century inn is now under new management.
A whopping Farmer's Grill will be served up on the evening of Saturday, May 25 for those who are feeling particularly hungry!

West Bay Hotel
Location: 3 Station Road, West Bay, Bridport
You couldn't really get much closer to the beach than the beer garden of the West Bay Hotel.
The pub will have takeaways available this weekend that can be enjoyed in the - hopefully sunny - courtyard only minutes from the beach.
The pub was refurbished in March 2022 and offers beers from Palmers Brewery, Lyme Bay Gins and Rums and Golden Cap Whiskey.
