There will be road closures in a west Dorset town for resurfacing work to be carried out.

North Street in Beaminster will be closed between its junction with Fleet Street and its junction with Gerrards Green, a distance of approximately 420 metres, from June 27.

Gerrards Green will be closed in its entirety for resurfacing work. A parking suspension as indicated by signs will prevent parking on the highway in its entirety.

It is expected that the closures will be in place until July 7.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

The temporary closure order has been made by Dorset Council and a parking suspension will be in place.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
