The park and ride service will be operating in Lyme Regis this Bank Holiday weekend.
Lyme Regis Town Council has confirmed the service will open for the first time this year after a site inspection has found the ground conditions are suitable.
The service will run on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from the site in Charmouth Road using double decker buses.
As reported by the News, the service was not able to run during the Easter holidays due to the site being waterlogged, but regular ground inspections have been taking place since.
The service was originally due to start on Saturday, March 30 however Philip May, Lyme Regis town councillor confirmed that the service would not be operating over Easter as the field opposite Strawberry Field, which is used for the Park and Ride, was waterlogged.
Deputy town clerk Mark Green said: “The park and ride service will be operating over the whole of the coming bank holiday weekend as originally planned.
“The landowner has confirmed that the ground conditions are now good enough to allow the site to open, and First will be operating the service between about 10am and 7pm on each of the three days.
“The normal advanced AA signs have been put up on the A35 and A358, together with the local signs on the A3052.
“The park and ride service will next operate over the ‘Whit week’ holiday at the end of May.”
The park and ride service will additionally operate on Whitsun week from May 25-June 2, every weekend from June to July, from July 24 to September 2.
