COMEDIAN and broadcaster Matt Chorley will be visiting Lyme Regis on the last stop of his tour of shows around the UK.

With a general election on the way, Matt Chorley draws on two decades of reporting from Westminster - and two centuries of history - to deliver his hilarious guide to winning and losing at the polls. 

The Times Radio presenter and Have I Got News For You regular is back with his third stand-up tour, ready to focus group the audience and compile his own manifesto guaranteed to get him the keys to No10.

He will be at the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis on Friday, April 26 from 7.30pm.

Having grown up in Somerset, and reported on politics across the West Country, Mr Chorley is excited about ending his tour in Lyme Regis.

He said: “This whole tour has been a brilliant respite from the misery of Westminster, but there is nothing like coming back to my favourite place in the world for what will be a unique night.

"Everybody knows that the Marine Theatre is the nicest venue in the country - and that’s just the sea view from the dressing room.

“I can’t wait to find out what the audience thinks we should outlaw or enforce as they cast their vote in my ballot box. And if they’re lucky, I might finish the show with a song.”

Matt was born in Taunton and grew up on the Somerset Levels.

He started his journalistic career on the now-defunct Taunton Times, and went on to report on politics for the Western Morning News, Independent on Sunday, MailOnline and The Times.

Since June 2020 he has hosted the mid-morning show on Times Radio, the live news station from The Times and Sunday Times.

He is also an award-winning podcaster, hosting the daily Politics Without The Boring Bits, and the new weekly podcast How To Win An Election, with Peter Mandelson, Polly Mackenzie and Daniel Finkelstein.
