The Environment Agency has issued an update on a flood alert in west Dorset.
Just before 2pm on Thursday, March 28, the flood alert was issued for west Dorset rivers and streams to expect flooding from 2pm.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Lim, River Char, River Winniford, Simene River, River Brit, River Asker, River Mangerton, River Bride.
Low lying land around the Rivers Lim, Char, Winniford, Simene, Brit, Asker, Mangerton and Bride is expected to be most affected.
A spokesperson for the Environement Agency said: "River levels are expected to remain high on the River Lim, River Char, River Winniford, Simene River, River Brit, River Asker, River Mangerton, River Bride.
"Further rainfall is forecast this afternoon. We will continue to monitor levels closely.
"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."
There are also reports of flooding in Shipton Gorge with a landslip occurring on Smacombe Lane.
Water is also filling the streets and running at quite some speed, motorists are advised to find alternative routes if possible.
