AN overturned car and caravan caused a section of the A35 between Dorchester and Bridport to close.
The road was closed in both directions and traffic is reportedly slow in the areas, according to Travel Dorset.
The road was closed between Chalk Pit Lane and Longlands Lane.
Motorists were advised to find alternative routes for their journeys.
No injuries were reported by police.
The road has now partially reopened.
Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 2.55pm that a car and caravan had overturned on the A35 near Askerswell.
"No reports of any injuries, officers have attended and recovery is being arranged.
"The road was closed but has now partially reopened."
At 4.30pm, National Highways announced that the crash was one of multiple incidents on the A35 which has caused the road to close again.
